Definition

A multi-dimensional array of numbers — the fundamental data structure in deep learning. Scalars are 0D tensors, vectors are 1D, matrices are 2D, and neural networks operate on N-dimensional tensors representing batches of examples with multiple features.

Enterprise Context

Understanding tensors and their shapes is prerequisite knowledge for any engineer working with AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) or building AI infrastructure.
