Agentic AI
Handoff
Agentic AI· Intermediate
Definition
The transfer of control, context, and task state between agents — or between an agent and a human — during a workflow. A clean handoff preserves all relevant state so the receiving party can continue without re-establishing context. Poorly designed handoffs are a leading cause of agentic workflow failures.
Maxx Stacks Context
Maxx Stacks context: MSIL's structured handoff protocol ensures that when an agent escalates to a human or transfers to another agent, no context is lost.
Enterprise Context
Critical in regulated environments where human review is required before final action — legal approvals, financial sign-offs, compliance gates.
